About

The Story So Far...

I started songwriting at around 16, sat in my bedroom with my first guitar and a mini-amp, trying to copy every Sam Fender song I'd ever heard. I didn't quite manage that, but I did manage to write enough of my own songs that some of them seemed to turn out alright. I spent my first day in a recording studio in July 2021, expecting to lay down a few demo tracks to take home with me, and when I walked out we'd started a project to record a whole EP over the summer. That's the (very brief) story of how I ended up with 'The Boy on the Shed' and the three singles from it.

The name of the EP came from the very first line of what was originally the first song on the record. That song was later replaced by 'Smoke in my Lungs', but the lyrics were used for the Prelude track, and the title stuck. The boy on the shed is me, watching everything around me taking place, and the EP is a collection of what I saw at the time of writing it.
